Mancos piles up the points against Telluride

The Mancos Bluejays can now show off three landslide victories after their most recent match on Friday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 55-13 win over Telluride. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Mancos has managed all season.

Mancos was led to victory by Quincy Montoya and Claire Goodwin. Montoya scored 19 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists, while Goodwin scored 26 points along with nine rebounds and six steals. That's the first time this season that Montoya pulled down eight or more rebounds. Teya Yeomans was another key contributor, scoring five points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Telluride struggled to work together and finished the game with only three assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as Mancos racked up 17 assists.

Mancos' victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for Telluride, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-8.

Mancos will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Dolores at 4:30 p.m. Dolores has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 5. As for Telluride, they will head out on the road to take on Nucla at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Nucla has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
