Flag Football Game Preview: Canyon Comanches vs. Cypress Centurions

The Canyon Comanches will head out on the road to face off against the Cypress Centurions at 5:15 p.m. on Monday. Canyon is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last eight games.

On Wednesday, Canyon didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Crean Lutheran, but they still walked away with a 12-6 win. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Comanches' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked ninth, while the Saints are ranked 146th).

On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Canyon's defense and their three sacks. Leading the way was Maya Conklin with two.

Meanwhile, Cypress made easy work of Tesoro on Friday and carried off a 32-12 victory.

Cypress' win bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Canyon, their victory bumped their record up to 15-1.

Canyon beat Cypress 25-14 when the teams last played on September 10th. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Comanches since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
