Softball Game Preview: Russell Broncos vs. Larned Indians

The Russell Broncos are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against the Larned Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It looked like the Kentucky Derby when Russell faced off against Sylvan-Lucas two weeks ago. The Broncos blew past the Mustangs 8-2.

Meanwhile, Larned waltzed into their game on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 12-8 victory over the Lancers.

Larned's win was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for Russell, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Everything went Russell's way against Larned in their previous matchup back in May of 2021, as Russell made off with a 17-0 victory. Will the Broncos repeat their success, or do the Indians have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
