Basketball Recap: Woodmont Comes Up Short

Woodmont lost against Mauldin two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Woodmont Wildcats were dealt a 58-31 loss at the hands of the Mauldin Mavericks. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Mauldin's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Zara Leamon, who went 7-for-14 en route to 17 points and five steals. The game was Leamon's third in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Imani McIver, who went 7-for-10 to rack up 17 points and six boards.

Woodmont now has a losing record of 12-13. As for Mauldin, their record now sits at 16-6.

Woodmont has already played their next match, a 50-40 win against Greenville on the 13th. As for Mauldin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-53 defeat against Greenwood on the 13th.
