Basketball Game Preview: Wilcox Central Jaguars vs. Jackson Aggies

Wilcox Central is 2-8 against Jackson since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Wilcox Central Jaguars are taking a road trip to face off against the Jackson Aggies at 7:30 p.m. One thing working in Wilcox Central's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last five matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Wilcox Central faced off against Southside on Friday. Wilcox Central walked away with a 68-57 victory over Southside.

Meanwhile, Jackson came tearing into Tuesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 27.1 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 76-44 win over the Demons. Given the Aggies' advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 50th, while the Demons are ranked 377th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Wilcox Central's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-8. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.8 points per game. As for Jackson, they are on a roll lately: they've won 14 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.

Wilcox Central beat Jackson 61-52 in their previous meeting on January 3rd. The rematch might be a little tougher for Wilcox Central since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
