Basketball Recap: Rice Memorial Takes a Loss

Rice Memorial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their 38th straight defeat dating back to last season. They took a blow against the Essex Hornets, falling 64-30. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Hornets this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 66-32 back in January.

Rice Memorial's loss dropped their record down to 0-18. As for Essex, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Looking ahead, Rice Memorial will be playing in front of their home fans against Burlington at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Burlington will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something Rice Memorial surely won't give up without a fight. As for Essex, they will head out to square off against Bellows Free Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Essex is facing Bellows Free Academy at the right time seeing as Bellows Free Academy is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
