Baseball Recap: Madison Highland Prep Comes Up Short

Thursday just wasn't the day for Madison Highland Prep's offense. They came up short against the Scottsdale Preparatory Academy Spartans on Thursday, falling 6-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Spartans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-2 back in March.

Madison Highland Prep saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Erik Lomeli, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Anikin Ulibarri also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

This is the second loss in a row for Madison Highland Prep and nudges their season record down to 3-8. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 6-7.

Coming up, Madison Highland Prep will face off against Highland Prep West at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Heat are facing the HORNETS at the right time seeing as the HORNETS are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Scottsdale Preparatory Academy, they will challenge Phoenix Country Day at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
