Baseball Game Preview: Poway Titans vs. La Costa Canyon Mavericks

For the second straight game, Poway will face off against La Costa Canyon. The Titans will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against the Mavericks at 4:00 p.m. The squads are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Poway has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while La Costa Canyon will arrive with three straight victories.

On Monday, Poway didn't have quite enough to beat La Costa Canyon and fell 3-1. That's two games in a row now that the Titans have lost by exactly two runs.

Poway saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Parker Smith, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

La Costa Canyon's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-9. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.7 runs on average over those games. As for Poway, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-18.
