Preview: Islands Sharks vs. The Habersham School Patriots
Islands is 4-0 against The Habersham School since November of 2019, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Islands Sharks will head out on the road to face off against The Habersham School Patriots at 5:00 p.m. Islands comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
Last Friday, Islands was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 30-29 to Memorial Day.
Meanwhile, The Habersham School came up short against Trinity Christian on Friday and fell 43-30. While losing is never fun, The Habersham School can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 251st, while Trinity Christian is ranked 84th).
Maddie Viles put forth a good effort for the losing side as she scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Myla Shippy, who scored 9 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals.
The losses dropped Islands to 0-3 and Memorial Day to 1-3.
Islands beat The Habersham School 60-47 in their previous matchup back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Islands since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
