Basketball Recap: West Shore Wildcats vs. Melbourne Bulldogs

West Shore was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss. They had to suffer through a 50-16 loss at the hands of the Melbourne Bulldogs. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Wildcats this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 63-27 back in December of 2024.

Kaelani Luther was West Shore's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Emily Marshall held things down on the boards with eight rebounds.

Melbourne's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianna Matthews, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds. Matthews has been hot, having posted nine or more boards the last five times she's played. Jocelyn Paz was another key player, going 5 for 8 on her way to 13 points.

West Shore's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Melbourne, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-10.
