Volleyball Recap: Wakefield Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Wakefield lost against Heritage back in October of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Wolverines fell just short of the Huskies by a score of 3-2. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wakefield took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-17, 20-25, 19-25, 25-23, 15-6.

Lila Piburn paced Wakefield's offense, picking up 11 kills. Piburn got some help from Gigi Ugur and her 13 assists. Piburn also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Allison Krassy, racking up two apiece.

Zoe Townsend was nothing short of spectacular for Heritage: she had 21 digs and six assists. Those 21 digs gave Townsend a new career-high.

Wakefield now has a losing record of 2-3. As for Heritage, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-5.

Wakefield didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 3-0 loss against Cleveland on the 27th. As for Heritage, they will square off against Pine Forest at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
