If McCluer wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Collinsville, they should've done a better job of containing Donovan Coates. The Collinsville Kahoks took their match on Friday with ease, bagging a 77-33 victory over the McCluer Comets thanks in part to Coates, who went 10 for 15 en route to 31 points. His evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.

Solomon Talbott was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in steals (two).

Collinsville has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.3 points per game. As for McCluer, they are on a 16-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

Collinsville and McCluer could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in their respective state rankings. Collinsville will challenge Althoff Catholic at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday down 111 places (138 vs. 27). Meanwhile, McCluer (ranked 495th) will meet Belleville West (ranked 161st) at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday.
