Baseball Recap: Gill St. Bernard's Comes Up Short

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Gill St. Bernard can now relate to. They fell just short of the Hawthorne Christian Defenders by a score of 3-2 on Wednesday. That's two games in a row now that the Knights have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Gill St. Bernard's and nudges their season record down to 11-10. Even worse, they were so close both times: the defeats came by an average of only one runs. As for Hawthorne Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-10 record this season.

Gill St. Bernard's does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hawthorne Christian, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 4-0 loss against Morristown-Beard on the 30th.
