Softball Recap: Mishawaka Picks Up Third Consecutive Win

Mishawaka entered their tilt with Goshen on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the RedHawks a 7-0 shutout. Considering the Cavemen have won ten games by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Camila Rameriz was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Those 14 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

In other batting news, Lilly St. Clair was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Shea Crawford, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Mishawaka was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Goshen only posted a batting average of .087.

Mishawaka's victory bumped their record up to 14-5. As for Goshen, they dropped their record down to 4-13 with the loss, which was their eighth straight on the road.

Coming up, Mishawaka will head out to take on Plymouth at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
