Basketball Recap: Grove Christian School Comes Up Short

Grove Christian School came up into this matchup off a tough 34-point loss last Thursday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of the Amelia County Raiders by a score of 59-56 on Friday. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Amelia County's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from DAWSON DUNNAVANT, who posted 12 points and six boards. Another player making a difference was CYLE WASHINGTON, who went 7 of 13 on his way to 17 points and seven rebounds.

Grove Christian School's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Amelia County, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grove Christian School will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Summit Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on January 6, 2025. As for Amelia County, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Legacy Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday.
