Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Regional Extends Winning Streak to Four

St. Joseph Regional came tearing into Friday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Eastside Tigers 15-2. The result was nothing new for the Green Knights, who have now won eight contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Brendan Lewis looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in April.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Aiden Reilly, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (two). Brady Shust was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI.

St. Joseph Regional kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in four consecutive matchups.

St. Joseph Regional's win bumped their record up to 17-7. As for Eastside, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3.

Coming up, St. Joseph Regional will be playing at home against Eastside at 4:15 p.m. on Friday. As for the Tigers, they will venture away from home to challenge Camden at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
