Basketball Recap: Lee Comes Up Short

Lee was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their seventh straight defeat. They came up short against the John Battle Trojans, falling 51-26. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Trojans this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 50-33 back in January.

Despite the loss, Lee saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Bailie Hughes posted 13 points. The dominant performance also gave Hughes a new career-high in steals (two). Phalicity Pennington was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lee's defeat dropped their record down to 4-16. As for John Battle, they now have a winning record of 11-10.

Lee has already played their next matchup, a 34-31 loss against Thomas Walker on the 6th. As for John Battle, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 79-46 defeat against Central Wise on the 7th.
