After a string of three wins, Nekoosa's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They fell just short of the Almond-Bancroft Eagles by a score of 2-1. While the Papermakers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Eagles 25-19 in the first set.

Nekoosa started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 19-25, 25-23, 15-11.

Bristal Brock paced Nekoosa's offense, picking up nine kills. Brock got some help from Aubrey Boerboom and her 26 assists. Teyarra Jones controlled things from the service line, finishing with two aces.

Nekoosa's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Almond-Bancroft, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-11.

Nekoosa wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 defeat against Waterloo on the 20th. Almond-Bancroft has also already played their next contest (against Poynette), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
