Broomfield had already won ten in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.1 runs) and they went ahead and made it 11 on Thursday. They blew past the Mead Mavericks 16-1. That's two games straight that the Eagles have won by exactly 15 runs.

Maverick Scarpella looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Broomfield let Jackson Shepherd and Brendan Fritch run wild. Shepherd went a perfect 3-for-3 with five RBI, three runs, and one triple, while Fritch went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those five RBI gave Shepherd a new career-high. Sam Hostetter was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Broomfield was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .522. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .448 or higher in three consecutive games.

Broomfield pushed their record up to 19-3 with the victory, which was their tenth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.9 runs over those games. As for Mead, their loss dropped their record down to 13-8.

Broomfield wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Longmont on the 9th. As for Mead, they will take on Erie at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Mavericks surely won't give up without a fight.
