AAA Dominion recap Nov. 7, 2012
Bird extended the longest winning streak in AAA Dominion this week by beating Dale, 42-3. The victory was the 10th in a row for the team.
Cosby led the league in scoring this week after putting up 60 points on Wythe.
Manchester's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Allen threw for 268 and two touchdowns and Jonathan Duhart had 112 yards receiving. On the ground Carlos Morales chipped in 51 yards. Myles Brathwaite helped Manchester's passing attack out by catching five balls for 95 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Justin Joyce of Midlothian is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1091. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, the Lancers' Morales has rushed for 457 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Brathwaite. The Manchester star has 29 catches for 757 yards.
A big matchup in AAA Dominion this week will be when Manchester takes on the Trojans. Tom Hall's team is in fourth place, while Midlothian is in third place.
There should be lots of points scored when the Lancers and Kevin Thomas' team face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Manchester comes in having scored 335 this season, while the Trojans have scored 194. The Lancers scored 41 points last week as they defeated James River.
