Basketball Recap: Nicole Ceja and Alyssa Lopez Secure Win for Bisbee

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Douglas, Bisbee was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They managed a 55-51 win over the Baboquivari Warriors. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Pumas also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.

Bisbee was led to victory by Alyssa Lopez and Nicole Ceja. Lopez posted 30 points and six boards, while Ceja almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Lopez has scored at least a third of the Pumas' points. Roxxana Mendez was another key player, putting up two points and six steals.

Bisbee's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Baboquivari, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Bisbee wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 56-39 win against Tombstone on the 12th. Baboquivari and Valley Union will compete for holiday cheer at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Blue Devils' defense has only allowed 24 points per game this season, so the Warriors' offense will have their work cut out for them.
