Football Recap: Port Huron Falls Short of De La Salle Collegiate in the Playoffs + How To Watch

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Port Huron can now relate to. They were outmatched by the De La Salle Collegiate Pilots and fell 34-6. If the Red Hawks were looking for revenge after losing 36-0 to the Pilots when the teams met back in November of 2020, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Joe Gilbert threw for 70 yards and one touchdown.

A big part of De La Salle Collegiate's victory came down to the chemistry between Grayson Thurston and his top target Damion King Iv. Thurston threw for 236 yards and three TDs while completing 72.2% of his passes while King Iv picked up 169 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Those 169 receiving yards gave King Iv a new career-high.

With the defeat, Port Huron broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-4. As for De La Salle Collegiate, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-6 record this season.

Port Huron does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for De La Salle Collegiate, they will take on King at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Crusaders' defense has only allowed 13.3 points per game this season, so the Pilots' offense will have their work cut out for them.
