Baseball Recap: St. Johns Country Day Gets the Win

The St. Johns Country Day Spartans earned a 7-2 victory over the North Oconee Titans on Monday. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Spartans.

St. Johns Country Day got a great performance from Ethan Bissell as he struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. Those six strikeouts gave Bissell a new career-high.

On the hitting side, Gibby Gilliand was excellent, scoring a run while going 1-for-2. Nick Bowden was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

St. Johns Country Day's win bumped their record up to 16-7. As for North Oconee, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-6.

St. Johns Country Day has already played their next game, an 11-6 defeat against Parkview on the 8th. As for North Oconee, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 7-4 victory against Oakleaf on the 8th.
