Softball Recap: Community Christian Beats Ahoskie Christian for Their Fifth Straight Victory

Community Christian put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their undefeated season alive. They came out on top against Ahoskie Christian by a score of 10-7. This was payback for the Cyclones, who suffered a 10-0 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Emilia Macias spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered four earned (and three unearned) runs on 12 hits and racked up nine Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Kylee Renfrow was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Ford, who scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-3.

Community Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .464. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in five consecutive matches.

Community Christian's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-0-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Ahoskie Christian, their loss was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Christian will face off against Spirit of Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ahoskie Christian, they will challenge Faith Christian Academy at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
