Softball Recap: Merrill Takes a Loss

Chippewa Hills hit Merrill with a seven-run fourth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Vandals fell 10-6 to the Warriors. The Vandals just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Merrill now has a losing record of 13-14. As for Chippewa Hills, their victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-16.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Merrill will square off against Bullock Creek at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lancers have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 7.29 runs per game on average), something the Vandals will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Chippewa Hills, they will take on Hesperia at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
