Volleyball Recap: Astoria/VIT Falls to Greenview in First Game of Season

Astoria/VIT kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Greenview Bulldogs. Sadly, the defeat continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 25-17.

Greenview's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Astoria/VIT will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Cuba/Spoon River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on September 9. As for Greenview, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Athens at 7:00 p.m. This will be the Bulldogs' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
