Soccer Game Preview: Earlham vs. Indianola

The Earlham Cardinals will venture away from home to square off against the Indianola Indians on Friday. Neither squad made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

It was a proper cat-fight when Earlham challenged Des Moines Christian on Tuesday. The Cardinals lost 9-0 to the Lions. That's two games in a row now that Earlham have lost by exactly nine goals.

Meanwhile, Indianola fell victim to Waukee and their airtight defense on Tuesday. They came up short against the Warriors, falling 4-0. Indianola haven't had much luck with Waukee recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Earlham's defeat dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Indianola, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Earlham beat Indianola 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Cardinals since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
