Recap: Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers vs. Kapaun Mt. Carmel Crusaders
If the Gardner-Edgerton Trailblazers were feeling good off their 51-23 takedown of the Augusta Orioles last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Gardner-Edgerton took a hard 56-42 fall against the Crusaders on Friday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kapaun Mt. Carmel to victory, but perhaps none more so than Lizzie Romer, who scored 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of McCoy Phister, who scored 13 points.
Gardner-Edgerton now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-5 record this season.
Gardner-Edgerton and the Lions will face off on January 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. As for Kapaun Mt. Carmel, they won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Mavericks on January 27th. Maize South presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Crusaders in Kansas (the Mavericks are ranked 42nd, while the Crusaders are ranked 139th).
