Basketball Game Preview: West Lyon Wildcats vs. MOC-Floyd Valley Dutchmen

West Lyon and MOC-Floyd Valley are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The West Lyon Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the MOC-Floyd Valley Dutchmen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Lyon knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven matchups -- so hopefully MOC-Floyd Valley likes a good challenge.

West Lyon is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Kuemper just ended the team's six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 81-78. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Friday (70), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.

Meanwhile, MOC-Floyd Valley entered their tilt with Central Lyon on Friday with four consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with five. They blew past the Lions 71-43. The Dutchmen have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 20 points or more this season.

MOC-Floyd Valley's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 78.0 points per game. As for West Lyon, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-2.

West Lyon strolled past MOC-Floyd Valley when the teams last played back in December of 2024 by a score of 76-62. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Lyon since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
