Baseball Recap: New Egypt Comes Up Short

Barnegat hit New Egypt with a seven-run first inning on Friday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Warriors came up short against the Bengals, falling 11-5.

New Egypt saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Aidan Healy, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI. That hit was Healy's first of the season. Lucas Burgos was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

New Egypt's loss dropped their record down to 3-5-1. As for Barnegat, their win ended a seven-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 5-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. New Egypt will head out to challenge Central Regional on Saturday. As for Barnegat, they will venture away from home to square off against Lacey Township on Saturday.
