Basketball Game Preview: Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans vs. Vero Beach Indians

The Somerset College Prep Academy Spartans and the Vero Beach Indians will face off at 6:30 p.m. on Friday without much rest having both just played. Somerset College Prep Academy is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52.8 points per game this season.

If Somerset College Prep Academy beats Vero Beach with 79 points on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. Somerset College Prep Academy took down Morningside Academy 79-61 on Thursday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Somerset College Prep Academy can attribute much of their success to Khloe Rodgers, who went 13 for 25 on her way to 36 points in addition to eight steals and five assists, and London Rolle, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 15 boards. That makes it three consecutive games in which Rodgers has scored at least a third of Somerset College Prep Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kaysha Felix, who posted eight points and six steals.

Meanwhile, Vero Beach was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They came up short against Jensen Beach, falling 44-23. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 430th, while the Falcons are ranked 168th).

Somerset College Prep Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Vero Beach, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-6.
