Baseball Recap: Pine City Comes Up Short

Pine City was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 10-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ogilvie Lions. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Dragons of the 11-5 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

Darrien Rodriguez and Jaxon Karas did some serious damage despite the final result: Rodriguez got on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run, while Karas went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Jacob Staber was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Pine City's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ogilvie, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Pine City is set to take on their familiar foe Braham at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Ogilvie will square off against rival Rush City at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
