Everett Alvarez extended the longest winning streak in Monterey Bay - Pacific this week by beating Watsonville, 38-7. This was the team's ninth consecutive win.
Christopher scaled the state rankings by moving to 483 from 513 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Cougars were able to move up by defeating Gilroy 44-14.
Christopher's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Sterling Montgomery threw for 302 and 3 touchdowns and Max Sanford had 105 yards receiving. On the ground Rayshon Mills contributed 250 yards. Jacob Moen helped Christopher's passing attack out by catching 4 balls for 73 yards.
Mills was a beast in the backfield as Tim Pierleoni's team beat the Mustangs.
He was 19-27 with 1 interception.
Montgomery put up the best numbers through the air as the Cougars topped Gilroy. Montgomery's favorite target this week was Sanford, who caught 4 passes for 105 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Montgomery of Christopher is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1,851. He has also thrown 16 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is David Dorr. The North Salinas star has 40 catches for 637 yards.
Going into this week's contest against North Monterey County, the Cougars' Montgomery needs 149 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Brian Boyd's team takes on North Salinas. The Mustangs are currently in fourth, while the Vikings are in second.
