Football Recap: Southwest Eagles vs. Ferguson Falcons

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Homestead, Southwest was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They never let the Ferguson Falcons onto the board and left with a 21-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won three matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.

Jimmie Marshall threw for 48 yards on four of 13 attempts. Livan Morales was his top target, picking up 33 receiving yards. On the ground, Derrick Ferguson rushed for 166 yards and three touchdowns on only 12 carries.

The victory got Southwest back to even at 3-3. As for Ferguson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southwest will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Belen Jesuit at 7:00 p.m. on October 4th. As for Ferguson, they will square off against Braddock at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
