Baseball Game Preview: Richwoods Knights vs. Centennial Chargers

For the second straight game, Richwoods will face off against Centennial. The Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Chargers at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Richwoods is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.

Richwoods blew Centennial out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Friday Centennial got their revenge. The Knights fell just short of the Chargers by a score of 10-8. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Knights have suffered since April 10th.

For Centennial's part, the team relied heavily on Tate Sauer, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with five RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave Sauer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ty Hunt, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base and two RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Centennial kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post 11 or more hits.

Centennial's win ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-11. As for Richwoods, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-10.
