Baseball Recap: Antonian Prep's Luck Changes for the Better on Friday

Antonian Prep can bid farewell to their five-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 12-7 victory over the TMI-Episcopal Panthers. This was a revenge game for the Apaches: when they faced off against the Panthers last Tuesday, they had to take a 9-4 loss.

Victor Suggs made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances. He was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on TJ Woods, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one triple, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Another player making a difference was Emilio Negrete, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Antonian Prep was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as TMI-Episcopal only posted a batting average of .148.

Antonian Prep's record is now 11-13-1. As for TMI-Episcopal, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.
