Basketball Recap: Tempe Prep Takes a Loss

Tempe Prep was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their ninth straight loss. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 30-24 heartbreaker at the hands of the North Phoenix Preparatory Academy Gladiators. The Knights were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Gladiators apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Sabrina Daniel was the offensive standout of the match as she posted four points in addition to seven rebounds and four steals. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Brecken Cain, who put up 11 points and five boards.

Tempe Prep's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-4.

Tempe Prep has already played their next game, a 64-11 defeat against Arizona Lutheran Academy on the 16th. As for North Phoenix Preparatory Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 34-12 win against Mayer on the 16th.
