Basketball Game Preview: Madera Coyotes vs. McLane Highlanders + How To Watch

The Madera Coyotes will head out on the road to take on the McLane Highlanders at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Madera knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully McLane likes a good challenge.

Madera not only won last Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since December 13, 2024 (when they won 76-32). They breezed past Central to the tune of 74-38.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for McLane, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They enjoyed a cozy 59-44 win over Sanger last Wednesday.

McLane's win came from a few key players Madera will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Jacob Mahavong-Garcia, who went 6-for-10 to rack up 16 points and three steals. What's more, he also posted a 60% shooting accuracy, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Keyvon Burcher, who shot 45% from the field on his way to 13 points in addition to six assists and five boards.

The victory got McLane back to even at 1-1. As for Madera, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Madera beat McLane 54-41 in their previous matchup back in February. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Coyotes since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
