Baseball Recap: Brookline Beats Milton for Their Third Straight Win

Brookline waltzed into their contest on Monday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Milton Wildcats 6-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Warriors have posted against the Wildcats since May 15, 2017.

Niko Rabiner tossed a big game, pitching 6.2 innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off six hits.

On the hitting side, Lincoln Hafner was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Devin Chin was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

Brookline's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 10-7. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of two runs across that stretch. As for Milton, their loss dropped their record down to 6-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Brookline will head out to square off against Wellesley at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Milton, they will venture away from home to challenge Walpole at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
