Basketball Game Preview: First Assembly Christian Lions vs. Brooklane Baptist Eagles

The First Assembly Christian Lions will head out to challenge the Brooklane Baptist Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

First Assembly Christian is headed into the matchup out to prove that what happened against Hope Christian Academy on Monday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. First Assembly Christian had to suffer through a 63-33 loss at the hands of Hope Christian Academy. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 329th, while Hope Christian Academy are ranked 143rd).

The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Ethan Hanners, who posted eight points. Preston Williams was another key player, putting up eight points.

Meanwhile, Brooklane Baptist came up short against Master's Hand Christian on Thursday and fell 69-56.

This is the second loss in a row for First Assembly Christian and nudges their season record down to 2-7. As for Brooklane Baptist, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-4 record this season.

First Assembly Christian came out on top in a nail-biter against Brooklane Baptist when the teams last played back in January, sneaking past 55-53. The rematch might be a little tougher for First Assembly Christian since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
