Football Game Preview: Prairie Mustangs vs. Caliche Buffaloes

The Prairie Mustangs are taking a road trip to square off against the Caliche Buffaloes at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Friday, Prairie and Fleming were almost perfectly matched up, but Prairie suffered a 33-32 loss. Despite 98 more yards than the Wildcats, the Mustangs couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Even if they lost, Prairie's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Tatum Bailey was especially locked on to Fleming's QB and sacked him twice.

Meanwhile, Caliche entered their tilt with Weldon Valley on Friday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They claimed a resounding 70-13 victory over the Warriors. That looming 70-13 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Buffaloes yet this season.

Caliche's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Prairie, they now have a losing record of 2-3.

Prairie might still be hurting after the 43-22 defeat they got from Caliche in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Thankfully for the Mustangs, Zander Yost (who rushed for 242 yards and three TDs) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
