Soccer Game Preview: St. Thomas More vs. Mt. Carmel

The St. Thomas More Cougars will square off against the Mt. Carmel Cubs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, St. Thomas More beat Dutchtown 3-1. St. Thomas More haven't had any issues with Dutchtown recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Meanwhile, Mt. Carmel kept a clean sheet against Benjamin Franklin on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Falcons with a sharp 5-0 win. Mt. Carmel might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine matchups by three goals or more this season.

St. Thomas More's victory bumped their record up to 11-4-5. As for Mt. Carmel, their win bumped their record up to 17-3-2.

St. Thomas More skirted past Mt. Carmel 1-0 when the teams last played back in January of 2025. Will the Cougars repeat their success, or do the Cubs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
