Recap: Belfry Pirates vs. Paintsville Tigers
The Belfry Pirates lost against the Paintsville Tigers two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Belfry fell 57-48 to Paintsville. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Belfry in their matchups with Paintsville: they've now lost three in a row.
Belfry lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Carter Jude, who scored 18 points. Jude also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Zade Rash, who scored 13 points along with four steals.
Belfry's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Paintsville, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 7-3.
Belfry won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Menifee County at 5:00 p.m. on December 30th. Paintsville and Avon will face off at 2:00 p.m. on December 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Avon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 11 on Friday.
