Basketball Recap: Simon Kenton Piles Up the Points Against Scott

Simon Kenton had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 34.8 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Scott Eagles 69-32. With the Pioneers ahead 39-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Jay Bilton continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 5-for-6 en route to 11 points and four steals. He is also on a roll when it comes to field goal percentage, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last 16 games he's played. Another player making a difference was Bode Stone, who posted ten points.

Simon Kenton smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scott only pulled down two offensive rebounds.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aaron Hampton, who went 8-for-19 on his way to 18 points. Kaymon Coleman was another key player, putting up two points.

Simon Kenton pushed their record up to 20-6 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.0 points over those games. As for Scott, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-15 record this season.
