Softball Recap: Strawberry Crest Chargers vs. Sickles Gryphons
Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Strawberry Crest). Everything went their way against the Sickles Gryphons on Tuesday as Strawberry Crest made off with a 20-14 victory. For the Chargers, this counts as revenge for the 14-4 win the Gryphons walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2023.
Katelyn Watts was a major factor no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season.

In other batting news, Strawberry Crest got a massive performance out of Kennedy Shea, who scored four runs while getting on base in five of her six plate appearances. Those four runs gave Shea a new career-high. Jazlynn Jirau also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen bases of the season.
