Soccer Recap: Eagle River Comes Up Short

Eagle River managed to keep up with West Anchorage until halftime on Thursday, but things quickly went downhill from there. Wolves lost 4-1 to the Eagles. Things got a bit chippy out on the turf as both teams were handed red cards: Eagle River's Madalyn Portell and West Anchorage's Ruby Kross.

Eagle River's goal came courtesy of Easton Johnson, who's now up to two this season.

Eagle River is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6. As for West Anchorage, their victory bumped their record up to 3-4-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Eagle River will face off against Wasilla at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Eagle River's defense better be ready for this one: Wasilla have averaged an impressive 4.7 goals per game this season. As for West Anchorage, they will challenge Dimond at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday.
