Baseball Recap: Park City Victorious

Park City had already proven themselves in the regular season and they didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cedar Reds 6-4. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 13-2 on Thursday.

The team relied heavily on Wesley Dewitt, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Alex Brannigan was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Park City lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in April.

The victory made it two in a row for Park City and bumps their season record up to 21-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 6 runs in those games. As for Cedar, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Coming up, Park City will take on Timpanogos at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Miners' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Timberwolves have averaged an impressive 9.1 runs per game this season. Cedar does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
