Baseball Recap: Century Diamondbacks vs. Preston Indians
Century extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping their season record down to 7-18 in the process. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Preston Indians. Unfortunately, that's the fifth time they've come up short against the Indians this season, with their most recent loss being a 10-7 defeat on Tuesday.
Century saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ayden Weinheimer, who went 1-for-3 with two RBI.
As for Preston, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 8-11 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games.
On Preston's side, Saager Keller spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks.
Century does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Preston, they will challenge Pocatello at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
