Softball Game Preview: Bushland Falcons vs. Iowa Park Hawks

The Bushland Falcons will take on the Iowa Park Hawks at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Bushland will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.

Bushland is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Denver City 9-8.

Bushland got a massive performance out of Chayney Snelson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Addison Appier, who went 2-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Bushland kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in 15 consecutive matches.

Meanwhile, Iowa Park put their dominant pitchers on display in the team's third consecutive shutout on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over Ingram Moore. Considering the Hawks have won 18 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Iowa Park is on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 26-3-1 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.8 runs on average over those games. As for Bushland, their victory was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-11.
