Basketball Game Preview: Huntington North Vikings vs. Tippecanoe Valley Vikings

Huntington North will venture away from home to challenge Tippecanoe Valley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Huntington North has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Huntington North is likely headed into the game with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Fort Wayne Bishop Luers on Tuesday. Huntington North took an 81-70 hit to the loss column at the hands of Fort Wayne Bishop Luers. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Saturday (62), the Vikings still had to take the loss.

Huntington North might have lost, but man, Ethan Zahn was a machine: he went 6-for-10 en route to 23 points along with five assists and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Dalton Husband, who went 6-for-8 on his way to 16 points and five rebounds.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Huntington North was working as a unit and finished the game with 21 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in January of 2024.

Meanwhile, Tippecanoe Valley entered their tilt with Garrett on Saturday with eight consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with nine. They skirted past the Railroaders 46-43. That's two games straight that the Vikings have won by exactly three points.

Huntington North has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 9-11 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.5 points over those games. As for Tippecanoe Valley, they pushed their record up to 15-4 with the victory, which was their sixth straight at home.
